Fellow Young Professional Republicans,

It’s time for celebration! While you may not be aware of it, Tax Freedom day was just over a week ago. So all the work you did in 2010 up until this point went to pay for the wonderful and efficient government services we all enjoy. So from here until the end of the year, you (in theory) are working for your own benefit. Don’t plan on Tax Freedom Day being the same time next year though. Obama grew up in Hawaii and is more of a summertime person. Therefore, he plans on expanding government spending and pushing this “holiday” back a few months in his first term as president. (He also likes Christmas so be very scared.)

This week, we are honored to have Jane Norton coming to our club meeting. Jane is a former Lt Governor for the State of Colorado and one of the leading candidates for US Senate. It’s hard to overstate the importance of this race. The sitting Senator from Colorado is Michael Bennett who has been a rubber stamp for Obama and Reid… we must defeat him in November! As a reminder, all of our club meetings are open and everyone is invited. We will be meeting at Republican Headquarters, 205 Sutton Lane, at 5:30 on Thursday the 22nd of April. As always, we will be serving dinner provided by our club sponsor. However, we will reverse the order to hear from our Jane Norton first since she has another engagement at 7pm.
